PROVIDENCE MAN DETAINED ON FEDERAL FIREARMS CHARGE
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Roldy Francois, 25, of Providence, R.I. was arrested and detained Tuesday on a federal complaint of being a felon in possession of a firearm, it was announced by U.S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha.Based on information developed by the U.S. Marshal Service in conjunction with Providence Police, a team of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshal Service, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Rhode Island State Police, and Providence Police responded to the defendant’s home to execute an arrest warrant, where he was apprehended. Following his arrest, Francois made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court Tuesday afternoon and was ordered detained by U.S. Magistrate Judge David L. Martin.
The matter is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard W. Rose.
